Our Firm was established in 1981 when Ronald G. Chambles began an accounting practice with the intent of serving the construction industry in the Houston area. In 1983 Larry D. Morris merged his accounting practice with Mr. Chambles and in October 1983 the new Firm was incorporated as Chambles, Morris & Company.
In July 1984 Steve P. Ligon and Richard R. Rodriguez became equity shareholders in the firm which continued the practice of certified public accounting in this form until March 1991. At this time, Mr. Chambles retired and the Firm was renamed to Morris, Ligon & Rodriguez, P.C. In January 2013 tragedy struck the firm with the unexpected passing of Mr. Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez was a wonderful person and is dearly missed to this day by all of those whom had the honor of knowing him. As part of the Firm's continuation plan, Larry M. Adler and Ryan P. Barry became partners in January 2013. In May 2015 Mr. Barry and Chad A. Capers, each of whom have been with the Firm since 2003 and 2004, respectively, became equity shareholders. In January 2017, after more than 30 years of successfully guiding the Firm to where it is today as one of the more well-respected firms in the area and a leader in the field of serving the construction industry, Mr. Morris and Mr. Ligon retired. In January 2022 the Firm was renamed to Barry & Capers, P.C. Mr. Barry and Mr. Capers look forward to continuing the Firm's success, commitment to excellence, and in guiding it to all new heights in the future.
